Beautiful Day
The only thing worse than being stuck at the office all day on a beautiful summer day is to know your boss is out there enjoying the nice weather at the same time. At my first summer job in an architectural office any time my boss got frustrated with a project or a client he’d get up, announce: “I’m going golfing!” and leave. –Joker

That's why people want to be boss. They can delegate everything, then go out and "conduct business" on the golf course. In the 22 years I worked at my last firm, there were only a few when I was able to go to the Christmas party along with everyone else; most of the time, I had a project that "absolutely had to go out" on the same day - so it could sit on the desks of the client until after New Year's Day.
