The recent proliferation of certifications has led to ridiculous collections of alphabet soup after names, which take up too much space on business cards, in signature blocks in messages, and in online posts. There now are so many certifications that they have become almost meaningless. In email, I include all relevant alphabet soup in the first contact with a client, to establish credentials, then use only my name afterward.
